Located roughly 25mins from Stainers Farm on the southern slopes of the North York Moors National Park lies Dalby Forest. Renowned for it’s 70km of cycle and hiking trails, it’s simply one of the best places in the country for off-road cycling and walking. Maintained by the UK Forestry Commission Dalby Forest is home to events throughout the year ranging from live music gigs, archaeology days and more.
The forest has a rich history with evidence of people living here since the Bronze Age. It’s also home to many species of wildlife and trees and is a wonderful place to explore whether by foot or on two wheels.
The main visitor centre has a café, shop and there is an adjacent bike hire shop. There is a charge for cars to enter to forest but parking is free.
